• Switch on the Computer and Correctly get the name of the user account that you need to Reset the password.
• Here it's "wathsara" .

• Reboot the computer.
• Hold shift or press f12 to open the GRUB menu.

• Select the "Advanced options for ubuntu" and press enter.

• Select "(recovery mode)" in the GRUB menu and press enter.

• Then select the root from the Recovery Menu and press enter.

• Then press enter for maintenance.
• Then type the mount -o rw,remount / command as shown in the picture.

  

  mount -o rw,remount /

Step 7

• Then type psswd username command (username = "name of the account", Here it 's wathsara ).

  

  passwd username

Step 8

• Now type the new password.
• Then type exit command to go back to the Recovery Menu.

  

  exit

Step 9

• Then select the resume from the Recovery Menu.
• Now try to log with the new password.
